K. Dee Hutsler
President
Dee likes serving in his community, helping people with special needs, and vintage cars. A lawyer here in Birmingham, he is an avid karaoke singer and loves a nice ride on his motorcycle.
Susan Markem
President-Elect
Friends, fellowship and travel are three favorite things for Susan Markem, who has made lifelong friends and found an avenue for community service through Civitan.
Mary M. Luck
Immediate Past President
Mary Luck is an Civitan International staff member and ACTION club member since 1987 who has conquered the table saw and nail gun for ramp builds. She also loves the beach, seafood and hanging with friends, especially ACTION Civitans!
Shelley E. Luck
Secretary
Shelley Luck, a member of ACTION since 1987, enjoys helping people in the community and socializing with members. Also high on the interest list is dinner and wine tastings with friends, going to the theater, board and card games with the family.
Brian James
Treasurer
Brian James has a long tenure of service with both ACTION and Civitan International. He served as club treasurer from 2017-2021, is the current Alabama Central District Governor and is a wheelchair ramp project chairman. Now retired, he had years of experience as a broadcast television engineer for Alabama Public Television.
Gretchen Britt
Director
Gretchen Britt has been in ACTION for almost 28 years, works in real estate and likes fun, sun and her ACTION Civitan friends!
Wendell Harless
Director
With a love for dancing and all types of music, Wendell especially enjoys live concerts and stage performances. He is also a sports enthusiast who loves college football, ice hockey and soccer. Also, time on the beach is the best time.
Tom Richeson
Director
A true motorcycle enthusiast, Tom loves riding for fun and the sense of tranquility it brings. He always looks forward to meeting new people involved in motorcycling or community service, a la ACTION Civitan.
Joe Roberta
Director
The desire to help others is what brought Joe to Civitan in 2002, and he chose to join the ACTION Civitan Club because of their hands-on approach to service! Whether it’s a Holiday Canned Food Drive, volunteering at the Big Oak Girls Ranch or building a wheelchair ramp for a person in need, YOU can make a difference!
Louis M. Stephens
Director
Louis Stephens’ passion is serving people and he believes ACTION Civitan is the perfect way to make a difference by helping people less fortunate. As a licensed Realtor, he impacts families throughout Jefferson and Shelby counties by providing excellent service so they can sell their homes profitably and buy the new homes of their dreams.
